Who should buy Roborock S7

  • If you are tired of the traditional robot vacuum and mop, the Roborock S7 is an excellent choice for an upgrade because it has new and advanced features; such as "VibraRise" for mopping that provides a vibrating motion, and automatically elevates the mopping pad when on a carpet.
  • If you live in a multi-level home, the Roborock S7 is a perfect fit for you because it can save multiple maps, allowing you to use the robot vacuum on any floor level you want.
  • If you have active kids or pets, the Child Lock feature may pique your interest because it will prevent accidental start ups.
  • If you think your house is messy, or has a lot of obstacles and furniture, the Roborock S7 can be a great help; it utilizes LiDAR navigation, with adaptive route algorithms that will efficiently navigate around the obstacles to provide a more thorough clean.
  • If you have a mix of carpet and hard floor in your home, the Roborock S7 is perfect for you because it has efficient carpet detection, that will automatically increase its suction and avoid mopping carpeted areas. It can also seamlessly transition between different floor types.

Who should NOT buy Roborock S7

  • If you are still not satisfied with the obstacle avoidance of the Roborock S7, you might want to check the Roborock S6 MaxV for an upgraded, Reactive AI, obstacle detection feature.

Verdict

Robot vacuums are constantly upgrading and innovating for a more efficient and convenient cleaning performance, because of the increased competition. So, Roborock stepped up and released the Roborock S7 that has impressive vacuuming, and top-tier mopping.

The Roborock S7 boasts its mopping capability because it offers advanced features, such as the Sonic Vibration Technology that scrubs up to 3000 cycles per minute. This feature alleviates one of the common problems of hybrid robot vacuums and mops; they cannot easily remove stains, because their mopping pad basically just runs over the floor. With the vibrating motion of the Roborock S7’s mopping pad, it can now clean tough stains easily and efficiently.

Another unique feature of the Roborock S7’s mop, is that it can automatically lift the mopping pad up to 5mm when it detects carpets. It doesn’t raise the pad high enough, but it is better than manually removing the mopping pad as you had to with other robot vacuums. With the automatic mop lift you won’t necessarily need to put no-mop zones, but the no-mop zone feature is still readily available in the app.

Roborock calls the two unique features of the mopping pad (the Sonic Vibration Technology, and the automatic mop lift), the “VibraRise” feature. This feature allows the Roborock S7 to mop four times better than the Roborock S5 Max.

The Roborock S7 is also impressive in its vacuuming ability, as it supports up to 2500 Pa suction power which is the same as the more expensive Roborock S6 MaxV. Unlike the previous Roborock vacuums, the Roborock S7 utilizes a new rubberized main brush that the Roborock calls the 'floating brush', since it can adjust its height on different surfaces. It allows the robot vacuum to have constant contact, even on uneven floor types, to provide more efficient vacuuming.

The rubberized main brush is designed to lessen hair tangling, but it is not entirely resistant. However, compared to brushes that use bristles, it is easier to clean the Roborock S7’s rubberized main brush.

The navigation system of the Roborock S7 is also impressive, since it utilizes LiDAR navigation that can accurately create a map even on its first run. Its navigation system can even work efficiently in the dark. It has an advanced adaptive route algorithm, that can learn your floor plan as you run it, so that it can work to find the fastest and most efficient route for cleaning.

After its first run, you can see the map created by the robot vacuum in the app. The app offers a variety of options and is highly customizable, hence, it allows you to satisfy your cleaning needs better. In the app you can merge or divide rooms, name specific rooms, set no-go zones, and no-mop zones, set scheduled cleaning for selective rooms or for the whole floor, and create a cleaning sequence for rooms.

Another new feature that Roborock developed is the Child Lock. This feature means that active children, or pets, can’t interrupt the robot vacuum, which prevents accidental start ups.

Overall, the Roborock S7 is equipped with a lot of new, and improved features. Roborock definitely keeps on innovating; particularly on the mopping aspect of the Roborock S7 that provides a better, and more convenient mopping experience for its users. The Roborock S7 is worth the investment, especially if you have bare floors that require frequent mopping.
