This is our verdict of the Roborock S6 Pure based on several hours of research of reviews from both experts and users.
The Xiaomi Roborock S6 Pure is a cheaper alternative to the Roborock S6 with a slight downgrade. It is a balance of high-end functionality while remaining affordable for those with a tighter budget.
You can use the robot as a vacuum or mop and it does its job well on both. It offers four cleaning modes (silent, balanced, turbo, and max) that allow the user to choose from a variety of options. It has a strong suction power of up to 2000 Pa, which is the same as the S4 and S6.
Its water tank can hold up to 180ml which is larger than the 140ml water tank of S6. Thus it can mop a wider coverage, but because it uses a gravity tank, it just relies on gravity to keep the mop damp. Unlike other robot vacuums that use electronic water tanks, the S6 Pure might empty its water tank faster because of the continuous dripping of water. It also does not have the no-mop zone feature of S6 which is helpful for those who have carpeted areas. Nevertheless, it is not that much of a big deal because you can still use the no-go zone or the virtual wall to block off carpeted areas.
Another difference between the S6 and the S6 Pure is in their dust bins. The S6 Pure has a slightly smaller dust bin compared to the S6 because it allows for more space for the water tank. Additionally, the S6 Pure is a bit noisier than the S6 although the noise level is bearable.
The S6 Pure utilizes an adaptive route algorithm where it analyses the room's shape and present obstacles before identifying which route or approach is better, so it can save time and lessen the chances of getting suck. The more you use the robot vacuum, the more it learns and understands what the best route is and what approach to take. It also uses LiDAR, which helps the robot vacuum to navigate thoroughly and precisely. In terms of navigation, you won't be disappointed with Roborock.
Its smart navigation allows the app to show an accurate map of your floor plan, thus allowing a customizable map where you can set virtual no-go zones and virtual walls that block off areas you don't want the robot vacuum to go. You can also set custom cleaning or selective room cleaning, a feature that allows you to select rooms or areas that you want to be cleaned.
If you are content with having a longer charging time, a smaller dust bin, and a slightly noisier robot vacuum than the Roborock S6 that yet provides all the great features that the S6 offers, then you might as well consider the S6 Pure which you can get at a cheaper price.
