This is our verdict of the Roborock S6 MaxV based on several hours of research of reviews from both experts and users.
Updated 18-02-2021

Xiaomi certainly doesn't disappoint, and continuously innovates to provide a better product for its users at a reasonable price. It has now released the Xiaomi Roborock S6 MaxV, a 2-in-1 robot vacuum and mop with smart navigation and powerful suction.

It uses two cameras and LiDAR to flawlessly navigate and map the area. If it detects an obstacle along the way, the Reactive AI processes it to try and identify what object it is, and sends it back to the app with the label. There is no need to worry about the captured and processed images because, according to the company, it doesn't duplicate, save, or send them to the cloud. Therefore, all the processed images are within the device only, and you can be assured of your privacy.

Nevertheless, the Xiaomi Roborock S6 MaxV's Reactive AI can only identify limited obstacles. Still, this is a minor problem; it may miss-label objects, but it will still avoid them.

This product has a large dustbin capacity that can accommodate a week's worth of dirt, depending on the usage; unlike other robot vacuums' dustbins that need to be emptied after each cleaning cycle. Moreover, it also has a large water tank of over 300ml, and comes with a large mop cloth bracket that can perform wider mopping coverage.

The robot vacuum may not come with a remote control, but the app is intuitive and provides a lot of features that enables the user to have more access and control over the robot vacuum. One of the features it offers is the virtual boundaries, which are the "no-mop" zones and the "no-go" zones. The no-mop zone feature is helpful for those who have carpets, and areas that they don't want to be mopped, as this feature is only activated when in mopping mode. On the other hand, the no-go zone feature can block off any areas regardless of cleaning mode.

The Roborock S6 MaxV can vacuum and mop efficiently, which leaves your floor neat and shiny. Its suction power is above average, and can go as high as 2500 Pa. Thus, it can thoroughly clean on any kind of floor, and can even deliver deep cleaning. However, it only comes with 1 reusable mop cloth, so you will need to wash it and wait for it to dry before you can use it again.

Overall, the Roborock S6 MaxV offers the key features needed in a robot vacuum, including a powerful suction level, smart navigation, bearable noise level, and a high-customisable app. Its price may be a bit expensive, but it is worth the investment because of the performance it delivers.

Roborock S6 MaxV vs. Roborock S6 caret-up caret-down

Pros

Utilizes ReactiveAI for better obstacle recognition and avoidance
Utilizes LiDAR and two front-cameras for navigation
Higher suction power (2500 Pa vs. 2000 Pa)
Can save more maps (4 maps vs. 3 maps
Larger water tank capacity (300ml vs. 140ml)
Has a "no-mop" zone feature
Allows for live home monitoring in the app

Cons

More expensive
Smaller dust bin (460ml vs. 480ml)

The Roborock S6 MaxV is indeed equipped with more advanced, and powerful features, that can provide a more convenient and better cleaning experience. However, these features might not be necessary for all homes depending on their cleaning needs. Therefore, the Roborock S6 is also an excellent choice like the Roborock S6 MaxV that can get the job done, at a lower price.

Roborock S6 MaxV vs. Roborock S6 Pure caret-up caret-down

Pros

Utilizes ReactiveAI for a better obstacle recognition and avoidance
Utilizes LiDAR and two front-cameras for navigation
Higher suction power (2500 Pa vs. 2000 Pa)
Utilizes electric water pump
Supports "no-mop" zone and multi-level mapping features
Larger water tank (300ml vs. 180ml)
Allows for live home monitoring
Lower noise level (67 dB vs. 69 dB)

Cons

More expensive

The Roborock S6 MaxV and the Roborock S6 Pure are both great hybrid robot vacuums and mops. However, the Roborock S6 MaxV is better in terms of every cleaning aspect, except the fact that it is more expensive. The Roborock S6 MaxV is an excellent choice if you have a lot of money to spend. However, if your situation is the opposite, the Roborock S6 Pure is also a great alternative that offers the lowest price in the S6-series, but with several downgrades.

Roborock S6 MaxV vs. Ecovacs Ozmo T8 AIVI caret-up caret-down

Pros

More front camera features (dual camera vs. one camera)
Filter is washable (washable vs. non-washable)
Slightly cheaper
Larger dust bin (460ml vs. 420ml)
Larger water tank (300ml vs. 240ml)
Denser main brush bristles
Can save more maps (4 maps vs. 2 maps)

Cons

Lesser side brush (1 side brush vs. 2 side brushes )
Higher (9.6cm vs. 9.3cm)
Cannot use microphone in the app unlike the T8 AIVI

The Roborock S6 MaxV and the Ecovacs Ozmo T8 AIVI are high-tech robot vacuums, that support AI-based navigation technology. These robot vacuums are better at avoiding obstacles and objects than other robot vacuums that lack Artificial Intelligence. Nonetheless, both products are not absolutely perfect in terms of obstacle avoidance, since they can only identify limited objects saved in their library. The Roborock S6 MaxV has more advantages, such as a larger dust bin and water tank. However, the Ozmo T8 AIVI has an optional Ozmo Mop Pro, and self-emptying bin, hence, it is considered superior regarding cleaning by comparison. The only downside is that you need to buy these add-ons separately, which increases the price of the already expensive Ozmo T8 AIVI.
