Who should buy Ecovacs Deebot N8 PRO+

  • If you have a dust allergy or asthma, the auto-empty bin of the Deebot N8 Pro+ can be a lifesaver for you since it limits your exposure to dust and the HEPA filter of the robot vacuum will also eliminate allergens as it cleans.
  • If you have playful kids or pets, you should take advantage of the TrueDetect feature of the Deebot N8 Pro+ because it can detect objects, such as toys or pet mess scattered on the floor and avoid them efficiently.
  • If you have two floors, the Deebot N8 Pro+ is suitable for you because it can save up to two maps.
  • If you have a mix of hard floors and carpets, you might be impressed with the Deebot N8 Pro+ because it has efficient carpet detection. It can automatically increase its suction when vacuuming carpets and avoid carpets when mopping to ensure that it only mops hard floors.
  • If you have furry pets or your home is prone to dirt and dust, the Deebot N8 Pro+ can be a great help because it has an above-average suction power of up to 2600Pa that can easily pick up from fine to large debris.
  • If you have a large home, it is best to have a robot vacuum that can accurately map your home like the Deebot N8 Pro+. It utilizes a LIDAR navigation system to thoroughly clean your entire floor without leaving a spot uncleaned.

Who should NOT buy Ecovacs Deebot N8 PRO+

  • If you are on a tight budget, the Deebot N8 Pro+ might be a little expensive for you, so you might want to sacrifice some features for a lower price. A cheaper alternative is the Deebot N8 Pro that doesn’t have the auto-empty bin, or the Deebot N8+ that has an auto-empty dust bin but lacks the TrueDetect feature.
  • If you prefer technologies that are more simple and less complicated, the app of the Deebot N8 Pro+ might confuse you since it has a lot of options and features. You might want to check the Eufy Robovac 11s with an intuitive remote control that is easy to use.
  • If you are looking for a robot vacuum with a mopping attachment that can easily remove tough stains, the Deebot N8 Pro+ might not satisfy you since it doesn’t exert pressure on the floor. You might want to check other robot vacuums with a Y-shaped mopping pattern that can make three passes in one spot, like the Xiaomi Mi Robot Vacuum Mop Pro.
  • If you are tired of cleaning the main brush with hair tangles, the N8 Pro+ might not suit you because its main brush is also prone to hair tangles. It would be best if you looked for other robot vacuums with a brush that is resistant to hair tangles like the iRobot Roomba i7+ that has a dual rubberized main brush.

This is our verdict of the Ecovacs Deebot N8 PRO+ based on several hours of research of reviews from both experts and users.
Updated 26-04-2021

The Deebot N8 Pro+ is one of the high-end robot vacuums in Ecovacs. It can vacuum, mop, and empty its own dust bin. But of course, it also comes at a high price.

It has an auto-empty station that can store 30 full dustbins or a month's worth of dust. This allows you more time for other things since the robot vacuum is almost fully automated. However, like other auto-empty bins, it produces an extremely loud noise when cleaning its dust bin. It also requires maintenance because pet hairs might clump in the dustbin as they might not be able to fit through the small exits.

The Deebot N8 Pro+ boasts its TrueDetect technology that works similarly to the AI-based technology of the Deebot OZMO T8 AIVI. Both can detect and avoid obstacles present on the floor but the way they do it is different. The N8 Pro+ utilizes laser-based 3D technology, while the OZMO T8 AIVI has a camera mounted at the front that serves as its eye.

The TrueDetect feature can identify any objects even as small as 2mm and doesn’t have a limited number of objects that it can detect, unlike the OZMO T8 AIVI. However, this ability might be a disadvantage if you have uneven floors because it is sensitive and might avoid areas with small bumps thinking that it is an obstacle.

The Deebot N8 Pro+ has an impressive vacuuming performance with 2600Pa. However, its mopping function is not that impressive because it just drags a damp cloth over the floor. But the advantage of the mopping function from other basic robot vacuums that have a mop is that it has an electronically controlled pump. The water tank won’t have an unnecessary water leak and you can control the water flow within the app.

The app of the N8 Pro+ offers various features, such as selective room cleaning, no-go zones, no-mop zones, adjustment of suction and water flow, scheduled cleaning, and many more.

Overall, the Deebot N8 Pro+’s mapping, route planning, vacuuming, and obstacle avoidance are all top-notch, making it worth the expensive price. It supports a lot of impressive features that allow the users to experience quality cleaning.

Ecovacs Deebot N8 PRO+ vs. Ecovacs Deebot N8 PRO caret-up caret-down

Pros

Inclusive of auto-empty bin

Cons

More expensive

The sole difference between the Deebot N8 PRO+ and Deebot N8 PRO is that the Deebot N8 PRO+ includes a self-emptying dust bin which is the indication of the “+” sign in the name. Meanwhile, in Deebot N8 PRO, you have to buy the auto-empty bin separately. The robot vacuum itself on both models is the same.
