It is impressively quiet when it operates, hence, you can barely hear it run. So, it is ideal if you work at home, have babies in your home, or have easily scared pets. The Bissell EV675 has two brushes on both sides, which helps it clean the edges and corners of your home efficiently.
The Bissell EV675 supports a carpet boost feature, which is not common in this price range. It can automatically increase its suction power when detecting a carpet to provide a deeper clean. The carpet boost feature also helps the robot optimize its battery life. If you set the suction mode to its maximum level throughout the cleaning cycle, it will tremendously decrease its battery life. In contrast, the carpet boost feature will only increase its suction power on areas that need a deeper clean to save battery consumption.
It doesn't have Wi-Fi connectivity or a designated app, but it has a multi-functional remote control that allows you to control the robot vacuum easily. There are simple commands in the remote control; such as auto mode (random navigation), spiral mode (cleans at a specific spot), wall mode (cleans the edges of your home), single room mode, manual mode (manually drive the robot), and cleaning schedule. The cleaning schedule feature allows you to set the Bissell EV675 to clean at a specific time within the day. However, you cannot set it to clean every other day, or every weekend, like with other robot vacuums.
Budget robot vacuums like the Bissell EV675 clean randomly. It moves in a straight path, until it bumps into an obstacle and changes direction. It continues to run until it drains its battery, hoping that it has cleaned the entire room. With random navigation, it is common that a robot vacuum can clean a specific spot two, or more, times and completely ignore other places. However, the Bissell EV675 can manage to clean an entire floor of a small house. Since the Bissell EV675 doesn't have a smart navigation system, it can often get stuck, and might not successfully return to its base.
Another downside of the Bissell EV675 is that it does not support a virtual boundary, or magnetic strip that can block off specific areas. So, if you have places that you don't want the robot vacuum to go, you have to block it using any object in your home.
Overall, the Bissell EV675 is a budget robot vacuum, so it is expected to lack some advanced features, but it still manages to provide a great end result.
